There are many activities you should be doing for your own professional development as an engineering student beyond our traditional courses. In ENGR 13300, we are including three types of experiences in the course assignments. The three types of experiences are mentioned in Table 13

Description

Activities

Academic Success

Prepare a schedule. Successful students often have an intentional schedule where they have decided when they will study, have fun, exercise, eat, sleep and other categories of activities.

\(1\)

Professional Preparation

Prepare a resume

\(1\)

Personal Activity: Participate in two activities that include attending a callout, going to job fairs or career presentations and going to hear speakers on campus. These can help you decide on a future career as well as helping you learn about opportunities for your future.

\(2\)

Cultural Experience

The Purdue community is very diverse. Experiencing that diversity will help you to grow as people and prepare yourselves to be leaders in our global economy and community.

\(1\)

We have allocated \(100\) points in the course for you to attend and reflect on \(3\) on these experiences during the fall semester, \(2\) Personal Activity and \(1\) Cultural Experience. You have the choice of what order they are done. Each activity is worth \(20\) points. For the Personal Activities and Cultural Experience, you will submit a reflection that is graded with the rubric, see the Reflections topic.

You have the freedom to do the activities in any order, but you must complete one by the first due date shown below, two more by the second date, and the final two by the final due date.

The schedule for the assignment due dates is mentioned in Table 14.
