Cultural Experience
This activity is intended to expose you to an experience and/or people who are
different from you in some way. Purdue is very diverse and has many
opportunities for you to explore other cultures, people and situations that can
help you grow as a person. In today’s world, awareness of other cultures and
people are an important characteristic for successful professionals. Your
experiences at Purdue can help you on that path, and we want to encourage you to
take advantage of the opportunities while on campus.
We leave it up to you to define what experiences you feel will stretch you in
some way.
You may do this experience individually or in a group of your choice. If you
attend as a group, please list the classmates who also participated in the first
paragraph of the reflection.
Many suitable events are advertised on the following websites:
Also, check the Purdue Exponent, posters around campus, or chalkboards in your
classrooms for notices about events. If you have any questions, ask your GTA or
instructor.
